INTRODUCTION
Hi, I’m Michelle and I am a *gasp*…step mom. For years I have kicked around the idea of writing from experience about the roller coaster on steroids known as step-motherhood. It was following the prompting of my husband to write something, anything and see what happens, this prompting was immediately preceding a FaceBook plea from a friend “Michelle I need to talk to you. You are the only one that understands I need your help to understand I need you to show me that I am a good person please help.” My heart was crushed, I knew what this was about…When I called her, she began to sob, her heart was crushed, she didn’t know what to do, or if she could do it…She loves her stepchildren, she loves her husband, but the lies and the disrespect were beginning to take a toll on her. When I hung up the phone, I knew with all my heart, that this was God’s timing, because I don’t believe in coincidences. So, the topic that has weighed on my heart for many years, became the something my husband thought I should write, on the topic that my friend and so many others, myself included, needed.
God has placed you in the lives of your step-children, it was not by accident. I hope through this blog we can laugh and cry together, as sisters in Christ and as sisters in the “step-motherhood”.
